RAYMOND SOLTYSEK!
Raymond’s first short story collection,Occasional Demons, was shortlisted for the Saltire First Book award. The film of his first screenplay,The Practicality of Magnolia, won two BAFTA New Talent awards, including Best TV Drama, and was nominated in the Best Screenplay category.
“…Soltysek writes broadly in a ‘Glasgow-style’ – powerful, sinuous, disturbing and, at times, violent – but scratch beneath the ink and you’ll find Occasional Demonsis suffused with a subconscious central European sensibility. [He is an] expressionist, muscular [writer] who draws on the darkest recesses of the human soul.”

GAV PRENTICE!
Glasgow based Prentice (also of euphoric pop duo Over The Wall) makes songs on his own that are angry and/or sad. He has just finished a Scotland wide tour of the new ceilidh-play Rantin’ with theatre makers Kieran Hurley and Julia Taudevin, and musician Drew Wright (aka Wounded Knee), and we are delighted to welcome him back to the R&B stage, especially in his home town.
“Few capture loss (of youth, of love, of home) as acutely – as achingly – as Prentice, and his voice remains equal parts ecstatic and heartbreaking.” (The List)
